Although starting from Livorno rooted tradition and under the influence of his grandfather John, Massimo Lomi has developed a very contemporary language, while never forgetting the glorious past figurative Tuscany. After an initial phase of production from a more traditional, The artist develops M. Lomi Un passo indietrosome attention to new colors, new reality of life lived, investigated with absolute precision, not limiting his powers of observation to the sunshine coast of Livorno, but broadening their perspectives through travel in Italy and abroad. Along the course of his career he enjoys experimenting with all the techniques, operation that led him to be able to make the most of every theme he portrayed. Among the innovations are certainly higher than indicated Lomi: The special cut given to his prospective subjects use, very often, Wood as a basis for his painting. Tables, sought by the artist with extreme care, often part of furniture such as drawers, before, or windows, or tables, with veins visible with great precision, because the color, or rather the light, painted by lomi never covers the wood completely, giving the impression of being ephemeral as the real sunlight filtered through an opening. He uses the technique in tempera, building their figures through warm colors, graduated with combinations and never shrill, with a touch of taste even postmacchiaiolo. The atmospheres are evocative, transmit, but a tangible reality, he is able to do even the expression of contemporary figurative painting.
